Class Descriptions
All Classes at Blue Moon are taught by certified Yoga Teachers and can accommodate students of varying abilities. Modifications and challenges can be provided-please inform your teacher of your needs. We have three categories of classes, as listed below, and you are welcome to join any of them.
Yoga I
This class is for the "beginners mind," whether you are brand new to Yoga, desire a simple pace, or would like to return to the fundamentals of Yoga. Class includes basic pose alignment, and a variety of breathing, relaxation and meditation practices. In Classical Yoga style, each class begins with a brief sharing of Yoga philosophy, creating a simple theme for each class. These offerings help the Yoga student understand the holistic science of Yoga, and how to bring it into our daily lives and everyday actions. Possible topics draw from yogic texts as well as the experience of teachers and students, including the healing benefits of yoga to body, mind and spirit; the daily practice; mindfulness; ethical behavior; nutrition and cleansing; positive thinking; mastery of our thoughts; energy work and enlightenment.
Gentle: Follows the same course, but focuses on modified poses and a gentle pace.
Vigorous: Follows the same course, but offers a more vigorous practice via vinyasa or flow, including sun and moon salutations.
Yoga II
This class is for All levels of ability and experience, but best for those who have at least some experience with Yoga. Classical Yoga philosophy will be presented at a deeper level, incorporating such topics as chakras, mudras, visualization, ancient texts, karma, and yoga psychology. Teachers will include a greater variety of postures, though all can be modified, as well as more advanced breathing techniques and longer meditation practices.

You get a great workout that will increase your flexibility and stamina while also enhancing your concentration and self-awareness. Hour of Power
with Tara Whitney
This is an hour long condensed Power Flow practice focusing on strength, flexibility, and balance. Take a mid day break and leave feeling light and energized. All Levels welcome.
Fundamentals of Power Flow
with Tara Whitney
Beginners and seasoned practitioners alike will flow at a slower pace. This class will emphasize alignment and the pillars of the power vinyasa practice (breathe, gaze, flow, abdominal lock). Power vinyasa yoga is a vigorous practice that focuses on strength, balance and flexibility. The room will be moderately heated (70-80F). All levels welcome.
Prenatal Yoga
with Kristen Pope
Prenatal yoga offers mother's-to-be an opportunity to connect with their bodies, their babies, their community and their inner wisdom to help you have a happy, healthy pregnancy and transition into motherhood. By honoring the shifts that take place in the mind and body during pregnancy I will offer gentle postures, breath work, vocal toning and meditation. All of which are complimentary to pregnancy and birth. By learning and practicing to cultivate flexibility, calm and confidence in preparation for labor and childbirth you will feel enhanced relaxation, comfort, and enjoyment. Calm and flexibility help ease the birthing process, thus reducing pain and increasing the joy of giving birth. All stages of pregnancy are welcome.
Prenatal Yoga is offered in six week sessions, pre-register by calling 603-479-3865 or email:

Master Yoga Class
This class is for students and graduates of the YogaLifeNH Teacher Training program. It is experiential in nature, based on the traditional style of yogis in which poses were practiced together and then discussed, in order to understand the deeper subtleties of alignment. "Alignment" in this sense includes intention, attitude, archetype, physical alignment, breath, mental focus, mudras/bandhas, chakras, psychological blocks and emotional transformation.
Open Studio
For those who have attended Yoga retreats in the past, we often began the day practicing Yoga together in silence, with no instructor, everyone following their own inner guru and often getting ideas from looking around the class. This class is for those who are interested in having a place to practice, and with a group of people. The space will be "held" by an instructor, but will not be a led class. There may or may not be music. You may practice in any way you desire.
