Upward Poses
with Stacy Smith, RYT 500
Wednesday, June 27 from 6:00-8:00pm
There is an interesting dynamic experienced in many movements or poses of yoga. The unique quality of feeling grounded while also extending upward teaches us the importance of being connected to our roots, feeling the earth, and reaching toward something greater, our highest aspirations and potential.
Encouraging length in the body creates internal space, reduces unnecessary compression and brings about a feeling of freedom and confidence. Together we will explore physical, emotional, and mental aspects that support or block us as we stretch ourselves toward our highest aspirations.
Join us for yoga poses, philosophy, and relaxation that can inspire us to unfurl toward the sun like an early summer flower.
Stacy Smith, RYT 500, has studied yoga since 1998 and teaches at The Yoga Center in Portland, Maine. She is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute of NH and continues to study and instruct in its teacher training programs. She approaches yoga in a holistic manner, blending the insights of Classical and Iyengar yoga with Ayurvedic teachings to nurture physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
This workshop is eligible for 2 Classical Yoga teacher training hours or CEU credits.
