with Allison Parks Dugas, RYT
Saturday, May 19, 3:00-5:00pm
There is never a dull moment when it comes to exploring the workings of the human body. Whether moving our spines in all directions, gripping the floor for balance, or inverting to increase blood flow to the brain for clarity, we are synchronizing various involuntary bodily functions with voluntary ones.
Go 'Out on a limb'. . . shift your focus toward your own bodily limbs (extremities). They play an important role in your body's ability to balance and support itself, not to mention that in many instances when we feel 'inflexible', it is due to immobility located in the joints associated with our limbs.
Shifting focus from one aspect of your practice to another offers a wealth of knowledge, as well as an endless renewal of inspiration and interest. With a mind of honoring our bodies and learning contentment for where we are presently, in this workshop we will explore those parts that help us walk, bend, and hug.
Allison Parks Dugas, RYT, is certified with the Yoga Alliance and a graduate of the YogaLife Institute of NH's 200-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training program and is continuing her studies in the 500-hour program. She began her yoga practice in 1999 studying Ashtanga and vinyasa-style yoga. She was drawn to the benefits of a physical practice; connecting the mind and body through the breath, becoming more present, reducing stress, and learning how to truly relax along with gaining strength and flexibility. It wasn't until she discovered the YogaLife Institute's Teacher Training program that she was able to expand her understanding to include the mental, spiritual, and philosophical elements as well as a gentler form. When she isn't on her mat, she tries to bring the benefits of her practice and mindfulness into her day-to-day life.
This workshop is eligible for 2 Classical Yoga teacher training hours or CEU credits.
Workshop Cost: $25.00
